Domestic Medium Hair / Mixed (medium coat) Cat

Gidget (GG) the Cat needs a home

Please contact Joy ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.

Hi, my name is

GG

(short for Gidget)!  I came to Brother Wolf through the Community Cat program, but they knew I had been an indoor cat at some point because my front paws have been declawed and I have been defanged.  As you can imagine, life was pretty rough for me when I was trying to survive outdoors.  I’m so thankful to be an indoor cat now!

I’ve lived a long life, but my foster family calls me a “15-year-old kitten” because of how wild I get when the mood strikes me.  Sometimes I have to be coaxed into play, but I sure have fun when I get going!  I can’t run and jump like I used to (I have arthritis), but I do love rolling around with a fun toy.  I've also had some mild asthma symptoms, but I'm doing really well right now with medicine.

I love living indoors again, and I love people so much.  What I’d love most is sharing a chair with you while you read or supervising while you meditate or watch TV.  Or sharing the bed while you sleep!  I may prefer it if you let me be the one to initiate affection, but I love to be talked to and petted on my head and neck and under my chin.  I may even crawl into your lap! I’m also happy to follow you around to help patrol the house from time to time.  Safety in numbers, I say!

My perfect future family would be one who knows how to be gentle and patient with me and understands that as much as I love them, I can get overstimulated sometimes because of the life I’ve led -- and being overstimulated can make me sassy!  But I will try to give gentle cues if I need a break from being handled.  I'm sure you can understand that the safer I feel, the better I am about being touched and picked up!  But forced attention can make me uncomfortable, so I’ll probably do best in a home without other pets (especially cats! *hiss*) or young children.  Contact my foster mom today to learn more about me!

All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).

Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
